How intriguing...
I'm thinking about buying an Alpaca, if anyone is interested in part-owning one of these beautiful beasts, feel free to get in touch. I will also be accepting donations towards the purchase of one. Thanks.

Day 230
A little sketch for some personal (not that any work I do is professional...) work.
I overheard some posh, jumped-up little cretin of a kid today talking to his Mother about how he wanted dauphinoise potatoes with his dinner. 8 year-olds should not know what dauphinoise potatoes are. You like mash - tool.
Reminds me of 'The Brie Incident'.
"Mummy, can we have some brie?"

Day 229
So I've been mentioning this collaboration a lot.
The lovely and extremely talented Sandra Dieckmann asked me if I would like to help her to create a series of images of endangered animals - I was all too happy to oblige. So far we have a dolphin, rhino, panda, orangutan, leopard and tiger finished (or at least finished for now). There's still a few more yet.
Very happy with them thus far, our styles of working look pretty nice together. Really looking forward to seeing the whole set finished, together and hopefully available to buy as postcards.
I should thank Sandra a lot for asking me to be involved with this, t'is a very good project to be doing work on and it really means a lot that she asked in the first place!
Eeeeeeeeeee.

Day 227
This is about one quarter of this drawing (that I haven't finished yet). The water (that's what it is) is giving me a pretty fine hand-muscle.
My Haus Storey is up now. Level 26! T'is getting very high.

Day 226
Splosh.
I think I'll take this moment to show you an excellent project that my good friends, Mike and Ben have set up. Getting It Wrong is a collaborative showcase of terrible ideas. They're looking for people to send them any creative work that 'went wrong' or was just plain inappropriate. Have a look and, if you've got something to share, do get involved! I, obviously, have never failed in my work so I won't be submitting anything.......oh.

Day 224
Myself and the puppy have been having some good fights recently. Amassing some pretty good arm and hand wounds.
Here's some dock machinery. Do you see the link?
I don't.
Oooo also - I was featured on the Illustration Rally blog today! Have a look at it on one of these many links. I'm really flattered that I was asked to be featured amongst some amazing artists whose work I really admire. Very strange. Big thanks to Natsuki Otani who runs the rally.

Day 222
Finished this off, innit. Apart from some colouring, but y'know.
A funny thing happened at work today.
Some kid was not happy that her Mother would only let her have 3 chocolates (which is too many in the first place, if you ask me, save your stamp) rather than the 4 that she wanted. At the counter, Mum, quite reasonably, asked her to put one of them back. This kid was not happy and began to scream/cry/jump up and down in a fit of anger. So enraged was this child that she proceeded (on the descent from one of her stomp-like jumps) to absolutely chin herself on the edge of the counter with some serious tongue-biting force.
Absolutely cracked me up. It's not as funny any more though. Oh well.

Day 221
S'more work in progress, innit.
So far, being at work does seem to be preventing from getting as much work done as I'd like. I foresee a distinct lack of sleep in my future. Oh well. Work tomorrow.
Here's another fun sign -
I really enjoy the little explanations after the delightful poems, just in case you hadn't understood the underlying message, subtle as it is.

Day 220
I had my first day of work in over 7 months today! Back at good ol' Castle Howard Farm Shop and Chocolate Shop. This is the shit I have to put up with at that place -
My favourite thing that I got asked today was some fat, Scottish kid demanding to know: "But how do yous make all of the chocolates?!" (you've got to say it to yourself in a pretty thick, Glaswegian accent) I told him it came from Angel poo. He seemed pretty convinced.
Anywho - here's a thing.

Day 218
I'm back in/near York again! Here to be precise, if you're interested. The ol' day job have offered me some work and in my current financial situation, I'm not going to turn them down - so for the next few weeks, I'll be here! Haven't spent more than a week back at home for quite a while now, so it'll be strange to be around for so long. Hopefully I'll be able to get lots of work done though.
Currently, I'm not really set up to upload work so here's a picture of a puppy. Face it - you love it.

Day 215
This is part of my submission for the latest Illustration Rally of European countries. It will be a while before my drawing goes up (as the rally is being done alphabetically and my country begins with 'M' - take a guess) so the finished piece won't be online for a bit yet.

Day 213
So yesterday I received some amazing post from a couple of lovely people.
Here are some bits sent by Yvonne Stewart (Sketch Stitch) -
And here is some stuff from Amy Gooding -
Including 2 of these excellent pinhole images -
Thankyou both so much for sending things! I really appreciate it and they're definitely going to make my workspace a much more enjoyable one.
I said that I'd send you stuff in return and they'll hopefully get to you this coming week some time. I won't post the full pictures here for now as I don't want to ruin the surprise :)
But, as requested, here is a sausage dog for Yvonne -
And another piece for Amy -
Phew, that was a long one. In case you're wondering, I gave that Christina Aguilera album another listen today - turns out being tired makes you like pretty awful music.
Thanks again! x

Day 212
This isn't the upload I intended to do today (I received some very nice post today that I wanted to tell you about) but my computer is still doing some very strange things and this is all I can upload with my remaining patience. Will hopefully be able to show you tomorrow! (apologies to the people who I told I would blog about today)
It may interest you to know that while doing this I am listening to Christina Aguilera's new album (I was intrigued, stop asking questions) - it might be because it's late and I'm tired but it's not offending me too greatly. I think I need to re-evaluate.
Definitely going to regret posting that.
Ha.
