Day 89

Have had a pretty screen-printy day. Played around with various different samples for various possible outcomes with the intention of hopefully making some things soon(ish). I'm pretty sure I've seen that eagle before...

These lovely orangutang prints are below are not mine - they are from Michael Whiteside - his very first screen printing lesson, don't you know. They are very nice.

I told you so.

Day 85

I don't know what I'm going to do when I run out of this paper...

Day 84

It is late.

Day 81

Another prep for the illustration awards. A theme, you say?

Day 80

A pretty exciting illustration in preparation for the Cheltenham Illustration Awards. Being judged by Sara Fanelli this year, don't you know.

Day 79

Happy Birthday Laura Faley!!

Today is my lovely friend Laura's birthday! To mark the occasion I followed her cat - Phillipe - around for the day to see what he gets up to. It turns out he is a very naughty cat.

Phillipe on the phone - how does he do it? He doesn't have fingers. Get off the phone Phillipe.

That is not your toilet! Naughty Phillipe.

Do not slide on that bannister, Phillipe, you will hurt yourself.

Oh Phillipe...

Those eggs are not for you, Phillipe!

That is just being destructive...

Fire extinguishers are not toys, Phillipe.

It is early afternoon, Phillipe, this is inappropriate.

This is definitely inappropriate behaviour.

Naughty Phillipe.

Once again, photos courtesy of Felipe Pires Dias, shutup already.

Day 78

Happy Birthday Jane Richardson!!

Today is my lovely friend Jane's birthday. She likes wild things, cake, parties and drawing things. Here are some of those things...

Apologies for confusion over upload times - things are weird.

All photos courtesy of my good friend Felipe Pires Dias, who beat me into plugging his website. Thanks.

Day 77

Sorry for a late one (again) there were internet and sleep issues.

Day 76

Day 75

Apologies for not uploading anything yesterday! I was in Newcastle (visiting my lovely friend Sally Fothergill who has directed a version of the musical 'Rent' - which was very good - if a little bit AIDsy) and did not have access to a scanner or computer. This sketch (which I'm not so sure about) was done yesterday though - so it's fine. Shhh.

Day 74

Today is Mike's (monkey) birthday! Happy Birthday Mike!

Here is his present - a hand-bound book of creative pleasures. A different (and very varying) piece of work by some of Mike's friends for him, bound by myself and Fliss. It is a very good book.

Day 73

Here are some more monkeys that are Mike. It is now his birthday tomorrow.

Saturday, 13 March 2010

Day 72

This is my friend, Mike. It is his birthday on Monday and he is a monkey.

Day 71

Day 71! To mark this significant landmark I have decided that it is probably about time that I had a header for this blog. I give it about 2 weeks (if that) before I go off it and want to change it.

Day 70

Spent today drawing at a very cool open exhibition in an unused shop in town today. Part of an initiative by Ben Wrigglesworth to get people to use empty shops as creative spaces. The exhibition's called Open Sesame - check out the blog HERE or, if you live in Cheltenham, go and have a look for yourself - it's in the Beechwood Arcade next to Rise. Go, it is very nice. Go!

Day 69

Screen printed business cards? Yes please.

Day 67

Day out to Bristol Zoo today, didn't do as much drawing as I'd have liked - too much of a need to see everything first, but managed to get some done in the end - here's a selection. Most of the drawings ended up being of lizards, apparently furry mammals like to move around too much.

Day 66

Finished off this bear painting at Uni today. I say finished - there's still some bits I need to change, and I also forgot to take a decent picture of the finished board. Anyway, shared a board with Ash Cook, mine is the much more demure bear, some would say smug but he wouldn't listen to them. Very much enjoy painting on this scale and definitely want to do some more. First picture is work in progress, second is finished(ish).
