365 Days is now over! If you feel like keeping up-to-date with my goings on then feel free to head over to my new blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Day 211

Blahhhhhhhhh.

Managed to finally upload those mixtape photos to my Flickr today. Have a look if you fancy. Or don't. But do.

Day 210

Thursday 29 July 2010

Day 209

Something is up with technology at the moment - wasn't able to upload this last night so here it is instead. Again, just a little taster. Apparently, I don't like posting finished work any more.

I also received some excellent post yesterday from the lovely Kellie Black (Miss Pearl Grey). I am very happy with the prints that she sent me (the dog and the lady with the umbrella) and they have gone straight up on my wall! Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!

There is still space on my wall if anyone else fancied sending me something...

Day 208

I sent off my mixtape today for the excellent Mixtape Project run by, the also excellent, Joe Rogers (Colourbox). Read more about it on the website - t'is a very good project - I am very much looking forward to receiving a mixtape and I would implore you to join in!

I've also just remembered that since reinstalling my operating system I need to do some bad things to photoshop to let me use it again, so I haven't been able to resize this image - so it is very big. Also, as I only sent it today you can just have a sneak peak and I'll upload some more photos of the packaging onto Flickr tomorrow.

Day 207

What's this? What could be in that gap? Who knows? Maybe you'll find out soon...

Today has been awful. I have spent about 6 hours trying to fix my computer, which resulted in me reinstalling the operating system. Which, so far, seems like it may have worked. Though I am now living in 2008 again.

Day 206

More collaboratey bits.

My computer is being very strange at the moment. Strange and quite worrying. If anyone happens to know for why my AirPort wireless connection would suddenly decide to be awful for apparently no reason, I would be extremely grateful. It's definitely something to do with that rather than the connection itself, which is fine. Just that my mac has decided it wants to be an arse (again). Gah! Very annoying - just uploading this has taken about 20 minutes. Not cool.

Saturday 24 July 2010

Day 205

Today I have been working on some drawings for a collaboration I've been/trying to work on. Things didn't start great but then, at the end of the day I did these thumbnails and things seemed to slot into place - I forgot how useful thumbnailing can be sometimes. All set for a good days work tomorrow now! Yes!

Also - the internet is being very strange at the moment. I would like it to sort itself out, please.

Day 204 (200+4)

204 days? Wow, what an important milestone! To mark this important occassion I have hung 204 origami cranes from the apple tree in my garden (with the help of my lovely Mother). Don't believe me? Here are some photos - count them, I dare you.

This is what I was going to be doing on Day 200 (which is what I was going to do on Day 100) but I decided that 204 was much more of a big deal...

So much folding.

Thursday 22 July 2010

Day 203

Finished it. Will hopefully submit to Threadless soon, not right now as I cannot cope with this computer.

I don't think it actually means a lot but Urban Outfitters print shop (linked to Society6) have one of my prints on Page 1 of their shop! Chuffed much? I take back anything I've ever said about that place. There's one on Page 4 as well if you're interested...

Wednesday 21 July 2010

Day 202

Puppy times! In case you didn't know already, my parents enjoyed looking after a puppy for a week so much that they decided they needed one of their own. This is why I am back home.

She is very good - a chocolate lab named, rather disappointingly, Poppy. I have gone for Miss Poopsalot instead as it is much better. We have been doing lots of playing - though she has given me a pretty good wound on my ear.

This is not her - this is Tigger 'The Pervert'. I can't begin to describe how much of a repulsive character he is.

This was a good moment.

I have decided that I no longer want to do illustration. Instead I would like to pursue a career in being paid to play with puppies. I think that there is a niche in the market for such a role. When people get tired of playing with their puppy (or puppies) I can step in and play with them instead. This is my idea and you cannot steal it.

Also, how much better is this blog when it's just pictures of puppies? Like, loads better!

Tuesday 20 July 2010

Day 201

Back in ol' York again! Having some very nice puppy times thus far, will upload photos soon.

In other news, I have decided (thanks to my good friend Fliss, who has recently started a blog that I would highly recommend following - sure to be some good work on there!) to start drawing people again! It has been a very long time and I am rather rusty but, as an illustrator, I think it could be quite important to be able to do. It is quite fun as well, I enjoy it when people catch you staring at them and they get extremely uncomfortable and suspicious. Looking at people in coffee shops with binoculars is a very good game.

Hopefully I'll keep this up basically everyday, just a little bit at a time.

Day 200

Oh my goodness! It's Day 200! I mentioned about doing something special for today - turns out that didn't happen. Perhaps it might happen in the next few days...

This is the start of what could end up being a t-shirt design, who knows? Not I.

I be going home (to jolly Yorkshire) again tomorrow. After the joys of looking after a puppy for a week there is now a new addition at my house. There will be much playing and many a photo.

Monday 19 July 2010

Saturday 17 July 2010

Day 198

This is my attempt at a film noir-inspired birthday message for lovely illustrator Kellie B (Miss Pearl Grey). Happy Birthday, I hope you've had a most excellent day!

Also - check out this magnificently adorable illustration by Lea Wade for the 'If I Was You' project. Visiting chow-chow bears sounds like something I would definitely want to do.

Friday 16 July 2010

Day 197

Day 196

There's a distinct possibility that I might have finished this now. It has been a long time though. Maybe I won't look at it for a few days. This is part of a top secret project, in case you were wondering. Some of you may already know what this is - but I'm not telling until it is finished. At the current rate it might be finished by Christmas...

Maybe I'll speed up.

I think I might introduce a song for the day. Don't really know why - probably just to show off my wicked music taste...

Artist - The Knife
Song - The Captain

Thursday 15 July 2010

Day 195

More bamboo? That's right. Not quite finished though.

Soon I will get this right...

Tuesday 13 July 2010

Day 194

Finished that paper-cut. I think I quite like it - it's given me an idea for a piece I'd quite like to do which, as per usual, might be quite big and might take some time.

Here's another attempt at a Haus Storey as the first one wasn't quite right. This one also isn't right. I've hit a little bit of a rut today, hopefully some wine and a good sleep will sort me out for tomorrow.

Day 193

Tried a bit of paper-cutting today - turns out it is a very slow process so I didn't get a huge amount done. It's a start.

Also had a little trip to good ol' Bristol today - must remember that everywhere I like going to in Bristol is closed on a Monday, oh well.

Sunday 11 July 2010

Day 192

Here's the full illustration from the snippet I showed a couple of days ago. It's for the fantastic 'If I Was You' project - another project of the multifaceted Sandra Dieckmann. I got to be Erd Yankingun (iamanoctopus) which I was very pleased with as I've liked his work for a while and he is very excellent.

Anyway - here's today.

Day 191

My submission for the excellent Haus Stories project run by, the always delightful, Sandra Dieckmann. To which I will submit this to in the morning. Night night.

Friday 9 July 2010

Day 190

Here's a snippet of an illustration I did today. I'll upload the whole thing once it has gone online elsewhere.

Thursday 8 July 2010

Day 189

First bit of drawing in a few days...

Wednesday 7 July 2010

Day 188 (A Plea)

Move in is complete (although I do need to buy a bookcase)! Hooray! Normality can resume!

However - my walls are very bare and uninspiring. This is where you (whoever 'you' may be) come in! I'm not sure whether this is extremely cheeky (I have a feeling it might be) but I would absolutely love it if you were to send me something to cover my boring walls with. In return, I will endeavour to dedicate a day to you and send you the original drawing for that day, as well as possibly some other treats! Wouldn't that be nice? I think so.

If you do fancy sending me some inspiration (no matter what - just something to brighten up the place) feel free to get in touch with me and I will send you my details.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaanks!

Day 187

Okay, so today was moving day! Moving day is very tiring, and I haven't even begun to unpack all my stuff yet - therefore I will have to try and keep you entertained with another puppy picture. This is a bit of a cop-out, I know, but I don't have anything so you'll just have to wait. Normal procedure will continue soon.

Promise.

Monday 5 July 2010

Day 186

Today has been VERY good. This is Rubi - a 3 month old Chow-chow of which I have had all to myself all day (sadly, she is not mine, she is on loan for today).

Rubi's interests include;

- Biting
- Peeing
- Having fleas
- Barking
- Crossing the road, but only when there are cars
- Having an excellent, blue tongue
- Eating butterflies

Today;

We laughed -

We played ball -

We posed -

We met Prince, the horse -

We bit Jamie -

Until his hand became a wound -

We were fucking adorable -

We played with sticks -

I very much want to keep her but apparently I'm not allowed because 'she's not mine' or some such rubbish.

I'm aware that I haven't drawn anything - but look at that face! So good.
