Day 181

Today I moved out of my house in Cheltenham. And given that the contract on our new house doesn't begin until the 6th July, I have returned home for a few days before I can move in. Consequently, I have realised, this means that I do not (currently) have access to a scanner. To get around this issue, I will introduce those of you who have not already met them, to my cats.

This is Bodger - he is very handsome but quite unpredictable.

This is Bodger's brother - Bugzy. He is one of my favourites. He and Bodger do not get on very well, their heads are a scab from all the fighting.

This is Boris/Dave. He is the kitten, although he is definitely in his teen stage - limbs everywhere.

Mother to Bugzy and Bodger - Millie. She is the smallest cat in the world, measuring only 2 inches in length. She likes it when I make jokes.

And finally - Tigger. Tigger is a bit of a pervert, sometimes when he rubs on people it makes them very ill. I don't know what it is, there's just something slightly repulsive about him.

Some would say that 5 cats is ridiculous.

I would agree with them.

Day 180

Today was ultimate 'finish packing and clean everything so that we can get our deposits back' day. It has been very tiring. Housemates and I wrote a poem to describe our year. Here t'is.

An Ode to 48. St. George's Street

There once was a townhouse,
In fair Cheltenham.
48 was the number,
Inside was the sham.

You see there were some issues,
With number 48.
From the sliding shower-head,
To ‘Basement-Damp-Gate’.

The basement was grim,
T’was unlivable.
Fliss and Mike were forced out,
Unforgivable!

They tried to leave on terms,
That they felt were fair.
Our landlords had none of it,
They did not care!

They threatened legal action,
On poor Mike and Fliss.
They demanded the rent from them,
Did Carla and Chris.

Somehow this passed,
And all was forgotten.
We carried on regardless,
A little downtrodden.

Our landlord, Chris,
Is a regular guy.
He wears average t-shirts,
To cover his lies.

He’s so fucking standard,
So ‘on our level’.
“Hey guys, how’s it goin’?
Here, have a Revel!”

“If you’ve got any problems,
just drop me a text!”
Well fuck you, lukewarm,
With your shoes from Next.

And your short back-and-sides,
And how hard you tried,
And those times our window was broken,
And you never replied.

Enough of our landlords,
You’re in for a treat!
When you hear of the events,
Of St. George’s Street.

Rough kids run amok,
Just up the road.
And the Mother’s the worst,
A repulsive toad.

This one time they tried,
To break into our place.
They kicked at our door,
And punched Ben in the face.

The police they were useless,
A waste of our time.
No-one was convicted,
For this terrible crime.

Our friend, Handsome Phil,
Was whipped in the face.
By the man who be mental,
So it seemed in this case.

The police they were useless,
A waste of our time.
Again no conviction
For this terrible crime.

At Christmas some fucker,
Stole all of our cheer.
Tom Cruised through the roof,
And made off with our gear.

The police they were useless,
A waste of our time.
Why no conviction,
For this terrible crime?!

“Here lives 1 x nonce,
And 2 x grass.”
On a sign in a window,
A few houses passed.

The police they are useless,
A waste of our time.
So we didn’t report,
This terrible crime.

There was the time Jamie almost died,
But that was our fault,
So don’t worry about it.

John Paul’s is a barbers,
But that’s just a front.
We have reason to believe,
That they’re drug-dealing cumts.
(we didn’t report that either)

So this is a warning,
To all future dwellers.
We hope for your sake,
You’re resilient, fellers.

And so ends our time,
In Number 48.
If we could go back and change it,
Oh…it’s too late.

Moving tomorrow!! (kind of)

Day 179

Read my housemate Ben's blog to understand how I feel about moving.

Monday 28 June 2010

Day 178

More packing has been done - I'm running out of things I can use. Also lots of cleaning has been done. Quite ashamed of the amount of crap we've accumulated this year and are now throwing away. Sometimes it's difficult to part with the Avril Lavigne poster that's been screwed up under a table in your basement for 9 months.

Sunday 27 June 2010

Day 177

You'll have to excuse all the bamboo at the moment - until I get it right. This is a work in progress, got to wait for some pens to arrive before I can finish it. Frustrating.

Packing has begun for ultimate multiple house moves over the next couple of weeks. These will cause untold disruption.

Day 175

Had a little trip to Port Talbot in Wales today with the intention of drawing some steelworks and other grim industrial things for a project I'm starting. As it turns out, in Port Talbot -

YOU

CAN'T

GO

ANYWHERE

Seriously, I wasn't expecting to be able to get into the actual steelworks but I couldn't even get in drawing distance of things. Also - people kept telling me to leave/fuck off which became pretty tiresome. Did manage to get some photos which I can hopefully work from though, as below.

Also - I met this cat. He was very good - he wasn't quite as serious as this photo makes him about to be, I think he was posing.

Day 174

A very early drawing for a project I've just gotten involved with. Very exciting - sure to be more stuff posted here.

Day 171

I believe at the beginning of this blog I said that I wasn't going to use this as a place to display my Uni work. However, given that the work that I am producing (or about to produce - final project - shit!) has stemmed from a lot of the work that I have made for this blog, I'm not going to do that any more. That doesn't mean I'm only going to be posting Uni work, other things are sure to happen as well. Anyway - I don't need to explain myself to you.

Today was very nice. I went to the park and saw some trees - here are some of the trees that I saw.

Day 167

I do apologise about yesterday.

In other news - I joined Society6 today! Very exciting. Have a look at my page HERE. Hopefully I'll be uploading lots of work up there as well now and, you never know, maybe even get a little bit of money. Whore.

Day 166

Oh dear...

Music - Midwest Product - Avant Poop
Face - Duncan James

Day 161, 162, 163, 164 & 165

Hello! Excuse the few days away - I have been away at the Beach Break Live Festival! Tell a lie, I was in London on Thursday and then at Beach Break Friday - Monday. It was a very strange experience. Fliss, Martha and myself arrived there late Friday and set up camp. Had a very cosy night in our very small tent and woke up the next morning stiff, cold, hungry and tired! However, we got to work on our wicker elephant, had a very cool pitch for all of our sculpture bits to go in which was excellent. Sculpting went well (if very long) but then things went bad when Fliss (who's health had been declining rapidly during the day) had to go back home that evening as she was rather unwell (she is well rested now and feeling much better, thanks for asking). We were left as two! Martha and myself spent the next two days finishing all the sculptures off, which was a tiring, surreal and ultimately rewarding experience as they did look very nice and we were pleased. We decided that it looked like a child had sneezed out a load of crayons which we then recreated. Nice. We then had to leave a day earlier than expected as other bits came up so we weren't able to do the mural - I think it was going to get put to good use by some other artists that were around though, which is good.

All-in-all, it was a bit of a weird few days. Definitely pleased with how it ended up looking though. Currently, I've only got pictures from my phone taken in the day-time but hopefully soon I'll get some night-time shots and some film shots (once they're developed) which I will post on here as soon as I get them!

Lots of words - now images!

Also, I'd like to thank the lovely Clare Chapman - who was excellent with sorting our stuff out, amongst many other people's and even driving us to the train station! She is a good one.

Thursday 10 June 2010

Day 160

Big Brother started today. I don't even care what you think - I love it.

I'm going to London tomorrow and then heading to Wales Friday-Tuesday (possibly longer) for Beach Break - so there's a possibility that I won't get chance to post anything here for a while. I'll try to get something up tomorrow though. But just so you know...in advance. I might not. Then again...

Tuesday 8 June 2010

Day 159

Today is my birthday! Therefore I am going to upload some lovely creativity from my friends. Our 'project' room was turned into a magical Teddy Bear's picnic - full of bear balloons, bear drawings and bear faces! I've had a very nice day. I would like to thank them all very much (I have already thanked them, don't worry).

Pictures!

Monday 7 June 2010

Day 158

For the past couple of days, Fliss, Martha, Mike and myself have been making some wickery-tissue-papery sculptures in preparation for Beach Break Live. These photos look horrible but the sculptures are actually looking really nice. I think my favourite is the rabbit, of which I can take no credit for as he was created by Mike (I don't think I've plugged Mike's blog here yet - look at it!). Hopefully these will all fit in the car and then Fliss, Martha and myself will be making lots more at the festival. Yeah!

Sunday 6 June 2010

Day 157

Finished experiment. Needs a little work before it becomes a big mural, but I do like the idea and think it would be nice big. Really big! Exciting...

Saturday 5 June 2010

Day 156

Here's a bit of practice of a mural idea for the Beach Break festival. It's still in progress so hopefully it'll be finished tomorrow. Excuse my horrible phone-quality photo, I shall achieve a better one.

Day 155

This is for the lovely Leanne Hayes whose birthday it was today! Everyone wish Leanne a happy birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEANNE!!!
